After much planning, we are excited to announce that the SNO Ad Network is ready to launch.  We understand that there will be a lot of questions about the Ad Network, and we’ve attempted to answer them below.

Keep in mind that the Ad Network is entirely optional.  If it doesn't feel right for your program, there's absolutely no obligation to join.  If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

SNO Ad Network FAQ

How much money will my program make?

Let’s be honest:  This is the question that everyone is most curious about.  The answer is that we can’t give an exact dollar figure, but you have a lot of influence over the amount of money your program earns from the SNO Ad Network.  

Ads will be sold on a CPM model.  CPM is short for “cost per thousand.”  That means that an advertiser will pay a negotiated fee for every 1000 of their ads that are served across the network of sites.  As the site owner, that means the more traffic you drive to your site, the more ad impressions will be delivered, and the more money your site stands to earn.  

As the network grows, so will our ability to find advertisers who want to reach your site viewers.  Over time, the demand for the advertising opportunities will grow, allowing us to charge a higher CPM for you.

How much money will SNO make?

Fair question.  We will split all ad revenue with participating sites on a 70/30 revenue share.  That means that each site in the network will keep 70% of the earnings for their site, and we will take the remaining 30%.  Our 30% will help us cover the costs of serving the ads, finding the advertisers, and acting as the administrator of the network.

How will I get paid?

To start, we will be offering two options for receiving your earnings.  Participating sites can receive their funds through a PayPal account or they can apply their earnings toward their annual renewal fee.  We hope to offer distributions through checks in the future, but before taking on that additional expense, the network needs to be established and earning money.

When will I get paid?

We will be making payments quarterly.  As the network and revenues grow, we will distribute funds more frequently.

Will I be able to track my site’s earnings?

Absolutely.  Each site in the network will have access to a dashboard featuring their ad impressions and earnings.  We will be managing all of the ads through Adzerk.com, and participating sites will have their own Adzerk Dashboard.

How many ads will be placed on my site?

To start, to participate in the SNO Ad Network your site will give up one ad position -- the 300x250 ad at the top of the sidebar on every page on the site.  

Will I be able to approve all of the ads?

It’s simply unmanageable for us to get each site to sign off on an ad before it is scheduled.  However, we give you our word that we will personally review each and every ad before it is scheduled to run on the network.  If their are any objections to the ad, you can contact us and we will remove it from your site as quickly as possible.

How will ads be added to my site?

We will take care of all of the work.  Once an ad is purchased and we have approved it, we will upload and schedule it to run on the network.

Can I still sell ads?

Absolutely.  Outside of the one spot reserved for the Ad Network, you will have complete control over all other ads on your site.  

Do I have to participate in the Ad Network?

No!  The Ad Network is entirely optional.  Only those sites that opt in will have SNO ads on their site.

Are their any technical restrictions?

Just one. Your site must be using a SNO theme, version 4.0 or later.  Not sure which version you’re running?  Just ask and we’ll let you know.
